Nick Bannehr emailed us a great gallery of photo only shot around the city beaches from Bondi to Maroubra proving that the talent runs deep along side the oh so beautiful people who reside there.

In the past some total legends have come from surfing these hidden city beaches. Steve Mckenzie, Ross Hawke, Corey Oliver, Beau Day, Joey Burns, Rob Palmer, Matt Lohmair, Dave Tier and in more recent times the Bunting brothers Alex and Tom, Jose Marquina, George Ohana, Dave Drews, Luke Birch, Simon Sweeny and Ben Bayfield. Also the local club is thriving again with Doc Loc putting in 110% to make it happen, the dude has a heart the size of a bear.

Just because its not some far away secret spot doesn't mean you can't score some waves, sure you have to fight hard to get them but when you can walk out of a session see the bright city lights flickering that in itself is something special and unique.

The city surfer is a tough bastard. Imagine before you even get in the ocean your dealing with over productive parking cops thieving your weekly income which is meant for your extremely expensive rent and then your faced with the crowds in the water. Still keen to go surfing?
