Often thought as a one point wave town, the Gold Coast hold some of the finest beach breaks in Australia. Sure during the summer months the relentless onshore winds and swarms of stingers in the water make you cringe. But as soon as those summer holiday nasty tarts leave its game on.

Looking back at the year, the Gold Coast and its amazing waves have by far been the most constant locations in Australia this year. Last week when the swell peaked from the east it was all systems go for a chance to surf the Gold Coasts saving grace. South Stradbroke Island or TOS.

Straddie as its known to the locals is one of the best breach breaks in Australia hands down. On this day it gave the eager locals a chance to sample the bigger side of this sandy wave magnet.
