Les Hallack and some of the Vicco bois recently headed to Secret sumatra. Here's the words and the pics for you to get heaps jelly over. Golden times with lifetime memories....

There really is nothing like a surf trip to a remote part of the world, it really hits the reset button and makes all those problems you left back home seem trivial. On this recent trip to Southern Sumatra, the boys from the Mornington Peninsula Bodyboards Club really got the chance to let loose and forget all their woes in some smoking Indo perfection.

The boog crew was made up of Vic state champ Adam Morrison, young guns Jack Shepherd and James Page, DK ripper Aaron Walker and chargers Corey Hannan and Myles Payne, all itching for some heavy Indo pits!

We based ourselves at the beautiful Villa Desa, run by top blokes Dean Furgus and Chris Burns both boogers armed with faultless knowledge of the local breaks ensuring we always had a place to surf, no matter the wind or tide. The set up there was amazing, with perfect lefts and rights out the front and several world class beachies and reefs all just a short drive from the camp.

The stage was set, all we needed was swell and we weren't disappointed. With two consecutive pulses hitting us the day after arrival it was a baptism of fire, no time to get used to the waves, just hit the charge button and get to work! Everyone was frothing, and in the coming days we all scored some serious pits and a ton of barrel time.

It was a great trip overall, one of the best I've been on, with standout performances by all guys involved. Big thanks to Chris, the lovely Inna and all the staff at Secret Sumatra for an unforgettable trip, awesome place, great food and most importantly epic waves had by all.
