The recent cyclone activity in the QLD area sent ruler straight lines into the points of Noosa, Kirra and a few lesser known spots. 1200 kilometres south in and around the NSW South Coast the same swell which was responsible for producing 25 second sand bottom tubes was unloading in a totally different matter.
Short intense slabs thundered across rock shelfs and you can see in these photos it was a totally different world than our sun tanned brothers up north were enjoying.
Sure there are a lot of differences that pop out straight away. Lefts, rights. Sand, reef. Sunshine, rain. But its the fact that a quick 1 hour flight can bring you so much variance in a swell gets us thinking.
