Cameron Green is a name that has been floating around on the tail end of big Southern Ocean swells for the last few years. He is lucky to have Shipsterns as a local but is unlucky too be sometimes forgotten about being from Tasmania.
We tracked him down in an effort to shed some light and show that the talent in bodyboarding does not stop at the edge of the mainland, but crosses the Bass Strait and is ready to blow people away.

Age - 18
Home town- Cremorne Tasmania
Years bodyboarding - 4
Favorite place to surf in TAS- On the east coast it would be Womb, and South, Stern for sure.
Local hero - Sam Lennox

Riders who you look up to, locally and worldwide?
Locally I look up to Charles Ward heaps, especially his surfing in bigger waves, and Jeremy Faulds technical riding is alltime. Out of state its definatly Brendo's surfing in bigger waves and his tech riding is sick aswell, beside brendo its riders like hardy, and Winny that tickle my fancy.

Current employment?

Just recently got a job at Hill Street Grocer in Lauderdale, stocking fruit and veg, before that it was BIG W, haha.

Favorite social networking site?
Definatly the book. I love that place

What's been the driving force of late in the surge of talented Tasmanian riders?
There are heaps of younger kids starting to get into it, i'm not too sure why really, Charles has been getting a fair bit of exposure along with the stern of course, this could be the driving force behind all the new lot of boogers turning up at beachies around the state.

Is there more to TAS than Shipsterns? Or is it a one-wave state?
There is so much of the state that hasn't been looked at, and that's one of the things we've talked about doing for ages, travelling down south and discovering new waves. Though there's a heap of waves all over the state that on their day are just as good as waves seen on the mainland or overseas.

What can people expect from you in the next 12 months, as a bodyboarder?
Well I am really trying to push myself, in and out of the water, I have just bought a new video camera set up and saving for a housing at the moment. Hopefully you'll see some shots of me going nuts, cause that's pretty much what I want to do, and on the way get shots of myself run and get clips of myself in movies.

If a company were going to throw down some cash on you, what sort of mission of mass exposure would you be embarking on?
I'd be speaking to Brendo and see what his plans are, watching the charts all over the country waiting for the right swell to pop up, then when it does speak to Tildesley or some other photogs and see how we go, hopefully get some big barrels.

Have been able to travel and score waves in Australia yet? If so where and how was it?
Yeah last year myself, Mat Tildesley, Charles and Harley Ward went on a trip to the desert and scored some really good waves and lost our minds at the same time. I was in Queensland staying with Harley and Charles again at the end of last year, and again we got some pretty good waves. I'm heading to Bali in a few days time, so hopefully we get some waves over there.

When the waves are not really doing it, what is taking up the rest of your free time at the moment?
I've only turned 18 lately so I've been going out a fair bit, but I'm in year 12 at the moment so that takes up most of my week, but school hasn't really stopped me from chasing waves.

Tell us about the nickname Fetus?
I dunno really, Few older guys just pulled it out of no where a few years ago because of my size and i guess it stuck, lately I've been getting called Du though.
