Relative new coming to the whole Shark Island Challenge event Thomas Robinson has competed in 2 event so far in his young history. Since moving from the Sunshine Coast of QLD Thomas's riding has evolved to show him as one of the leading heavy wave riders in Australia. Residing now in the coastal town of Thiroul on the SOuth Coast of NSW, Thomas's training pre event is simple surf heavy right handers as much as possible.

Back in the day Thomas would look up to local legend Adam Wingnut Smith for his fearless power approach to the waves of the island. For him the ultimate Shark Island wave would mimic one of Wingnuts wave from an old Underground tape in which he is so deep its almost a close out and comes steaming out, (old Manta advert). As for visual fodder for him to dream of Matt Percy's Australian Bodyboarder cover in the afternoon sun, all black wetsuit, no leash and pure style.

For Thom is going to be a great chance for him to compete against his fellow peers in awesome waves as he is no longer chasing the World Tour. "I am expecting it to be an all time event in good waves with a good chunk of the best bodyboarders in the world shredding, my type of comp".

Back in the day Thom was unlucky enough to come across a rather drunk local (Nugget) who poured a beer over his head in the pub and told him he had no chance of ever going any good in the comp. "At the time it was annoying but now I can look back and see where he was coming from" says Thom. Robinson is presented proudly by 4PLAY and Zion.
