2007 was not death slabs that people had come accustom too seeing at the island. People were treated to a move Hi Fi 3 to 6ft technical display. Day one was a little slow to start and people fell victim to the small tricky conditions. The second day was as good and as perfect as Shark Island gets. 4-6 feet form the SE with 10 knot offshore winds and not a cloud in the sky.

Some of the biggest moves ever witnessed went done on this day. Dave Winchester busted out an epic reverse air, Mark McCarthy showed a strong presence with technical moves into and out of the barrels. Jeff Hubbard took full advantage of these conditions hitting anything that came his way. His brother Dave Hubbard shows true versatility mixing it up with the prone riders and just missing out on the final. MIke stewart impressed a lot of people keeping up with the riders busing airs and making deep tubes to just ram home his total dominance in any conditions.

The final was made up of a lone Australian and everyone on the point and in the water was going for Ben Player. With every wave it seemed clearer and clearer that it was Ben's day and no one was going to stop him. The crowd got right behind him all the way to the final hooter and when he rode his final wave it was clear he had won.

1st Ben Player
2nd Mark McCarthy
3rd Mike Stewart
4th Jeff Hubbard
