General Manager Terry McKenna sent through latest news from Sintra the 2nd leg of the European stage of the IBA World Tour. Besides kicking off with a banging party and cake, day one has been run and tomorrow the event will see some of top riders compete.

The Sintra Portugal Pro got underway today as the first three rounds of the Men's division kicked off in punch 3 footers.

The surf was pumping as Pria Grande' served up some meaty random peaks providing the perfect canvas for competitors to draw some lines on.

In round 1 the best performer was Hayato Enokido (Japan) who once again dazzled the crowd with a strong combination of moves. Hayato turned a lot of heads here in Europe as well as Australia and is fast developing as the best rider out of Japan.

Round 2 saw Nicolas Rosner (Germany) blow his opposition out of the water with clean solid lines. Nicolas has been living in Sintra and is feeling good on home turf.

"The banks here have been pretty bad but it was pumping out there today" said Rosner.

R3 started to heat up when Paul McCarter (Ireland) and Oliver Rnder (Germany) won heats against the more experienced locals.

Tomorrow will see the Women and the DK hit the water as well as the qualifiers and seeds in R4.
