The crew up at Nelson Bay Bodyboarding Club are throwing a Retro Comp this Saturday to celebrate Christmas and another great year. We hope to bring you a highlights package next week but if your in town drop in and check this out.

Now this really only applies to PSBC members but where hoping it could be bigger next year. One of the founding members of the club has a stock pile of old boards in his garage, ranging from early 90's Eppo boards to Shapes that are dated B.S (Before Slick).

We ran our first Retro Show 2 years ago in perfect 3ft conditions, we saw a swagger of closet manoeuvres thrown down such as the Tom Carroll Inspired Re-entry and the ever popular prone floater. Obviously board selection was vital which is why we adopt a first in best serve format where the competitors fight it out on the beach at the beginning of each heat. Scoring is best 3 waves; a format all the old blokes will remember well and judges will be looking for knowledge of the early years in the rider's performance.

This year's event is set, so zinc up and dust off those double hand cut backs because it begins 7am December 18th!
