Transmission Novy breaks a rib!

Recently I heard reports that Novy had copped an injury. A quick email and the Unite wearing, ID board riding Three Conscious film star had written back to fill us in:

Well what happened was, after the Box final the surf was still huge and we decided to head to North Point as the tide was dropping and we thought there'd be a few. We turn up and it looked pretty fun, paddled out and so did everyone else that was at the event haha. Anyway I was sitting on the end bowl and managed to sneak into one after someone fell off, the waves turned out really good and had a huge airbowl on it. I did an invert out of the bowl and just got flung way out into the flats and landed so heavy. instantly winded and had whiplash and felt as if I'd hurt my spine but close to my shoulders.

I was sore and my neck locked up after a few days but i didn't to have a chance to rest as i was off on another trip straight away. Same thing happened again where I did and air and landed in the flats trying to double elbow it for support but was winded really bad this time. It wasn't till later that surf that my side started hurting and pinching. Anyway after surfing the rest of that trip in pain I returned to Queensland and went to get check out by a physio where she told me i had popped out a few of my top ribs, bruised my spine and broken a rib!!
