Hi there fine Fluidzone visitor,

Have you been keeping well? We're hoping you're feeling fit and strong ‘cause Riptide #183 is arriving in newsagents Wednesday August 10th - and it's a big 'un!

For the very first time in Riptide's storied 21-year history the magazine has not one, but two covers, and one of them is a super-sized gatefold cover. Why two covers you ask? Well, to fit the largest bodyboard buyers guide ever created we decided to flip the issue and form a special 32-page section, just for this year's finest foam.

Riptide #183 has far more for you than a giant board guide - much more in fact. We've got you a ten-page Shooting Gallery, filled with the best action from the past two months. Do you need the travel bug to bite again? After all, we've hunted down new waves for every issue of the magazine this year. This issue we've gone exploring again, to the very edges of the Koro Sea, to find virgin, bowly reef passes that'd make even the most stubborn homebodies pack their bags and head for the airport.

As we've all been celebrating, this year's our great sport's 40th anniversary. It wouldn't have been a proper celebration without a conversation with the bodyboards' eccentric inventor, Tom Morey. That's right; Riptide #183 is bringing you the first published piece with Tom Morey since our 100th issue celebrations way back in 2000. You'll be pleased to know that our craft's 76-year-old creator is as sharp and philosophical as ever. To compliment's Tom's words, we chatted to bodyboarding's first favourite son, Mike Stewart about the very first time he set foot in Tom's wondrous research lab as an enthusiastic 14-year-old.

Plus, we've got a trip to the red dirt of northern WA with some of Australia's favourite sons and their companion, a Canarian Prince.
