Love your GoPro? You're about to want the next step up!
Our friends at Sportscamera.com.au have given us the inside details on the new GoPro 2 just released. Petra Keranen writes:
GoPro has just come out with the latest and greatest action camera, the HD HERO 2 - So, what's new? It has a prefessional 11MP sensor, 2 x faster image processor, 2 x sharper glass lens, Professional low light performance. Select your field of view - in 1080p and 720p mode you can choose between full angle (170 degrees), medium angle (127 degrees) and narrow angle (90 degrees) making it perfect for any activity, also choose your field of view for photos between full 170 degrees and medium 127 degrees. When shooting photos, there is a ten 11MP photos per second burst and an 11MP photo every half second time-lapse mode...
Sound - this new little camera will have a natural sound and high wind audio mode and a 3.5mm external microphone input.
"The HD Hero2 is much, much easier to use than the original HD Hero," said GoPro's director of product definition, Rudy Samuels.
"If you know how to use a traditional camera, you can use the HD Hero2 straight out of the box without instructions. This makes the HD Hero2 very powerful as an everyday, easy to use consumer camera while retaining all of the features, modes and performance that has made GoPro the best selling small form factor HD camera to Hollywood."
Some new BacPacs are coming soon too - the Wi-Fi BacPac and Wi-Fi Remote....
This camera sounds AWESOME will be available early next week. We can't wait to test it!
By the way Sportscamera's new extended bodyboard mount will hopefully be available some time next week! We've been working on this mount for the last year. The extended bodyboard mount will give views similar to those seen in Said Langri's recent video vimeo.com/30823113
We also have our bestselling single pin bodyboard mounts and surf helmets fitted with GoPro mounts. Our aim is to develop the best mounts and mounting systems for bodyboarders.
