Geoff Swan gets some words in with one of Tassie's leading tech riders, Jeremy Faulds..

Swanny: If you're a local in Tassie and you notice someone in the soup drawing incredible lines, crazy pocket moves and stylish boosts then your probably watching Jeremy James Faulds. As far as bodyboarding goes in Tassie, know one has or probably will match him. Jezza as he is better know has been a stand out since he was in primary school with pretty much every state title (when he chooses to enter) to his name. He is your typical underground kind of guy. Grew up right on the beach, has travelled australia and the world on many occasions but will always call Tasmania home. He is now a qualified nurse and recently dipped into his annual leave and shot as far away from Tassie as you can get. Here is what he had to say.

Jeza: "Just got back from an amazing 6 week stint over in the UK. Got into London and caught up with my good mate and all round legend Jack "I work hard for my money" Johns. I hadn't seen him since we were last in Ireland together and he was frothing for some adventures. He'd organised us tickets to go to BESTIVAL, which is the last music festival in the festival circuit and it's a biggen! 4 days of non stop music and general good times. Highlights were The Cure, Bjork, Brian Wilson, Fat Boy Slim... just to name a few. Partied pretty hard over those 4 days so I was pretty stoked when this knob-ead called Luke Barker or Tron or Testicle, I forget his name, but he is a dead set legend from Victoria. He called me up asking if I was interested in joining him in Scotland... he's been over there a week or so already and had it sussed out. I checked the charts cause I didn't trust his calls of best evers, his name was TRON for fuck sake... he's an Autobot... but it did actually look pretty good so I booked flights. He picked me up off the corner, like the seedy bastard he is, in a small northern town and started raging about this slab that should be pumping on dark, so we went straight there and waddaya know, it's shit... nah that's a lie, it was pumping. Stayed in Scotland for 5 days all up and surfed 4/5 days, multiple times just changing spots with the tides and swell directions. It's a pretty rad place and the waves are amazing, fickle but amazing.
I left Tron there after Geelong beat the Eagles in the AFL semi final, being an Eagles man despised him at this point, so I showed him the charts for Ireland (it was going to be pumping and he couldn't come) booked more flights and got the hell away from that Blue and White yobbo. Got into Ireland and hitched over to the West Coast, caught up with local ladies man Tommy Gillespie and I'm pretty sure we got pissed on Guinness... cause that's all you do over there. When we weren't drinking Guinness we were surfing Rileys which is in my opinion one of the best waves ever. I loved it. Spent about 9 days surfing slabs and trying to understand what the locals were saying. They have an amazing tight nit crew over there, Tom, Micky, Fergal... best vibes in the water, kinda like Tassie I guess... I feel pretty at home there."

All Scotland Photos are shot by Luke Barker aka Tron.
