The call for the 2012 IBA Pipeline Pro DK wildcards, which is just weeks away, has been made. Here are the players:

Bud Miyamoto
Mason Rose
Grant Molony
Matt Lackey
Miles Kauhaahaa
Cass Sonoda
Leroy Kaiwi

Gold Coaster John 'Gibbo' Gibson narrowly missed on the draw, but will be going into the trials. Here are a few words from Gibbo:
Well I missed out on a wildcard entry this year but all who received them truly deserve them. Was always going to be hard to get one. So back into the trials again for me. I went to Hawaii for first time last year and loved it! The local boys were great letting me get a lot of waves at off the wall. Wish trials were there but understand they can't have them as BB is already taking over pipe for long enough. So Sandybeach it is. Just hope it's a bit better than last year. It was tiny but had to run trials and no one can predict What Huey has in store this year either!! Halfpoint at Sandy's is a fun wedge left and right which is very contestable as long as swell cooperates. I myself bombed last year in trials. Hope don't repeat that this year but had a lot better preparation this year, fractured a vertebrae in my back 3 weeks prior to going to Hawaii last year... There will be a lot of good guys going in again all trying to snavel those 8 spots in the main event to surf pipe with only three guys out and try for the title!
