Swell Events in this Forecast Period:
Continuing small E'ly tradewind swell this week.
Cyclone possible in the Coral Sea later this week with uncertain surf potential.
The Coral Sea and South Pacific are currently undergoing a very volatile phase as the monsoon trough dips southwards and is fed by a strong north-west monsoonal flow. A high remains slow moving in New Zealand longitudes with tradewinds in the eastern Coral Sea expected to maintain a small tradewind signal during this week.
A tropical depression in the South Pacific is expected to move into the Coral Sea late this week with reasonable odds a low or cyclone could develop off the North QLD coast. While the latter presents surf potential we'll need more information about the intensity, position and movement of any tropical low/cyclone before we can get a picture about it's surf potential for Agnes. That is off in the future with the present seeing a small signal oif tradewind swell expected to stay below 2ft during this week.
